This is what BCCI said, “Every member was also asked to undergo an RT-PCR test at home before embarking on their journey to Ahmedabad and the travel was undertaken only after testing negative,” It stated.
Right now, the Indian squad is staying at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. As per the guidelines, the team had to undergo at least 3 days quarantine before the commencement of practice session from February 2. The team is expected to start practicing from tomorrow onward.
On the other hand, West Indies team has also arrived in the city on Wednesday. As per the report, the West Indies team is also staying in the same hotel. Due to the COVID-19 cases being piling up, there is a danger to the upcoming series.
In regards to the above scenario, a Cricket West Indies (CWI) official has stated that there are no active COVID-19 cases in the camp.
This is what they said, “We were all negative before we left Barbados. And all negative on our arrival tests at the airport yesterday in Ahmedabad. We are in room isolation on a separate floor to the Indian team as per the protocols,” A top ranked officer told Cricbuzz.
