COVID-19 Test Kit: There was time when COVID-19 pandemic was on the rise and there was an urgency for people to get a COVID-19 Test kit to undergo the test at home.
But in case of monkeypox, devising such a kit is not required mainly because of the rapid at-home test kits.
After COVID, we all have bee witnessing the monkeypox outbreak which brings a sense of deja vu with the COVID-19 pandemic.
In order to detect the infection, people have to go through all those painful swabs, have to struggle find a test, and finally need to wait for long to get the test results.
Difference Between COVID-19 & Monkeypox Test Kit
Please note that unlike COVID-19, monkeypox is not a respiratory disease. This is why the test in COVID-19 is targeted in mouth and nose.
Unlike Covid, monkeypox is characterized with some painful blisters that look like sores. And the person has to go through some more symptoms like muscle aches and fever.
Currently, monkeypox is being detected using swabbing the sores that become vigilant during the course of infection by a monkeypox virus.
On the other hand Monkeypox happens to be an infection caused by zoonotic virus which usually lasts for a periods of 3 weeks.
It’s caused due to the infection by monkeypox virus and is characterized by symptoms like rash or pox-like symptoms.
The lead researcher in this regard says, “There is still a lot of work to do to figure out if people are able to successfully swab their own lesions, which could be painful or difficult,” he said.
In monkeypox, patients only need to go through the test once they develop the symptoms like rash or blisters over the skin. Those who develop no lesions are not required to go for the test.
On the other hand, people have to go for a test in COVID-19 even before the onset of symptoms.
