Expedite Coverage of Covid-19 2nd Dose: Indian Government to Tell States

In order to ramp up the process of Covid vaccines, the government of India has ordered all states to expedite the coverage of Covid-19 2nd dose, especially those who are overdue.

After assessing the situation, the union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya held a meeting with the state health ministries officials and ministers to review the entire situation and expedite the coverage so that the entire adult population of the country should be covered with at least one dose of Covis-19 vaccine.

In the ongoing drive, both the center and state are known to have collaborated to speed up the process of vaccination drive with main focus in administering Covid-19 2nd dose at least by December.

The above direction came after the backdrop of the country achieving the great milestone of over 100 crore vaccination doses on October 21.

The data says more than 10 crore people are due with their Covid-19 2nd dose despite the huge stock of Covid-19 vaccines available in the country.

As per the details given by the ministry of health, more than 12 crore unutilized doses were already available with states and UTs on Tuesday morning. Due to this, the government wants the above inoculation drive to speed up as the government has already planned to vaccinate the entire population by the end of the year.

You might have observed in the past that the government has recently achieved a milestone of administering 10 crore people with Covid-19 vaccine.

Although, some political parties raised the question but the government is bothered to do the needful. At this time, there is a need to accelerate the process of administering the Covid-19 2nd dose to people who are overdue.
