Macron Refused to Take Russian Covid Test Ahead of His Meeting With Vladimir Putin

French President Emmanuel Macron simply refused to undergo Russian Covid test ahead of his meeting with Russian president Vladimir Putin, as confirmed by the Kremlin.

It was actually the protocol which was to be followed before a meeting. But it was unacceptable and didn’t fit with the schedule of the French leader. This is what a French source communicated to the BBC.

The report revealed that French president Emmanuel Macron refused to conduct PCR test regarding his fear that Russians would get hold of his DNA.

This had an impact on the meeting of two leaders that was held long distanced. The meeting concluded on Monday.

The report suggested that both the leaders didn’t even shake hands or sat with a 4 meter long table between them. Observers wondered if Mr. Putin is signaling a diplomatic message.

On the other hand French diplomatic sources affirmed Reuters that Mr Macron had been asked to choose between accepting a Russian PCR test or simply abide by strict social distancing norms.

This is what a source told Reuters, “We knew very well that meant no handshake and that long table. But we could not accept that they get their hands on the president’s DNA,” a source revealed.

But the source couldn’t further explained how Russians could have exploited Mr. Macron’s DNA.

A source told BBC, “The conditions imposed for the meeting to take place with no social distancing required a health protocol which were according to us unacceptable and incompatible with the president’s schedule.”

A number of sources after confirmed that Mr Macron was kept at a distance from Mr. Putin as had earlier declined to take a Russian covid test.

However the report says that Mr. Macron had already carried out a PCR test before leaving France. His doctor again had conducted an antigen test right after reaching to Moscow. This is what another French diplomat told Reuters.

“The Russians told us Putin needed to be kept in a strict health bubble,” the source revealed.
