Ramsay Hunt Syndrome: Famous Hollywood singer Justin Bieber has been diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder called Ramsay Hunt syndrome which is often termed as Lyme disease. The above condition basically falls under a rare condition called Lyme disease which causes facial disorder.

Bieber shared the tragic news after he was recently diagnosed with this rare disorder. Due to this he had to postpone a number of his concerts.

The singer recently took to his Instagram handle to share a two minute video where he said that it’s a viral disorder that attacked his facial nerve causing paralysis.

He further pointed out that due to the above disease, he’s unable to move his right side face. Not only that, he could not blink or even smile.

This is what he said, “So for those who are frustrated by my cancelations of the next shows, I’m just physically, obviously, not capable of doing them,” he continued. “This is pretty serious, as you can see. I wish this wasn’t the case, but, obviously, my body is telling me I gotta slow down.” Bieber said.

Justin Bieber said after he has been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome or Lyme disease, he has planned to take rest to help him get time doing what he wanted to do. He also pointed out that he’s totally concerned of doing various facial exercises during the recovery phase.

We don’t know how much time it’s gonna be, but it’s gonna be OK. And I have hope, and I trust God, and I trust that this is all for a reason; not sure what that is right now, but in the meantime, I’m gonna rest. I love you guys.” Bieber said.

As per an article from Mayo Clinic, the above complication is caused due to a form of virus called varicella-zoster virus. It’s the same virus known to cause chickenpox and shingles. The most common symptoms include hearing loss, rashes around the face, and one sided facial paralysis.

Although, Ramsay Hunt Syndrome often comes up with permanent nerve damage, it takes almost 3 weeks to fully recover. The above condition is most commonly noticed in people of 60 years of age and is rarely found in children.

It was in 2020 when Justin Bieber had revealed that he had been diagnosed with Lyme disease which happens to be a serious case of chronic mono. At that time, his wife came in support of the singer and suggested him not to take online trollers seriously.
