2 American tourists who visited Taj Mahal in Agra on Jan 10 tested Covid positive

It was confirmed by a senior health officer in Agra (India)

The medical officer said that samples of the group was taken except for these two American citizens

He told PTI, "They reached Agra on January 9 via Varanasi and stayed in a hotel in Agra"

They stayed in a hotel in Agra (India) and on January 10 visited Taj Mahal

Samples of tourists were taken by health department of Agra at the east gate of the Taj Mahal

He said to have alerted places like Jaipur where they were about to schedule next

It was in December 2022 when one tourist from Argentina who visited Taj Mahal was found COVID-19 positive

However, the health officials couldn't trace him as the details he gave was incorrect

Further inputs are expected to come when the report of samples sent for genome sequencing arrives
