Adult At Illinois Day Care Tests Positive for Monkeypox

Another monkeypox case spotted in Illinois when an adult at day care center was tested positive for the virus

Health officials say there is a danger for a number of children to have been exposed due to the dreaded monkeypox virus

But they have not yet disclosed the exact number of children who have been exposed due to the monkeypox virus

For the sake of the safety,  they have initiated the screening of all the children and staff from the day care in the Rantoul area

The only relief so far is that no additional cases are reported. All adequate measures are being taken to help the victims

All available local and federal resources are deployed to help. Pediatricians are there to screen children for the virus

The health officials stated that affected individual works in home health care. He’s under isolation and is doing well

Please note that monkeypox is spread through skin-to-skin contact with an infected person's lesions or body fluids, as per CDC

The lesions happen to be the most common symptom of monkeypox. They can also appear like pimples or blisters.

Some other common symptoms associated with monkeypox include swollen lymph nodes, fever, headache, fatigue and muscle aches.
