As per a new research led by a team of researchers at University of Sydney, Australia, a person who engages himself in some vigorous activity of 1-2 minutes twice or thrice a day is bound to lower the risk of death up to 40%.
It has been found that these brief activities can help reduce the risk of dying from a cardiovascular ailment or cancer, National Geographic cited.
In order to grab maximum health benefits, it is required to enhance the intensity of your daily activities. However, those exercising on a regular basis can benefit far more better.
This kind of short bursts of daily high-intensity activities has been also recognized by exercise physiologist at the University of Texas. In his studies, he came to the conclusion that such quick and high intensity exercises may counteract harmful effects of prolonged sitting.
Study Finds Two Minutes of Vigorous Activity In A Day Might Lower the Risk of Death
The team of researchers experimented where young adults were asked to pedal a stationary bike as fast as they could. And the results were amazing according to which they analyzed it improved their fat metabolism.
This is what one of the researchers had to say, “I was surprised how effective these four-second bouts were. They’re just as effective as 30 minutes of continuous exercise,” he said.
The short bursts of exercises may include running for the bus, carrying heavy groceries or climbing stairs. All such rigorous activities contribute to the increased fat metabolism which can reduce the chance of any fatal complication.
The researches found that those who were involved in doing at least 4 daily sessions of high-intensity physical activity for at least 2 minutes, had 49% lowered the risk of dying from cardiovascular disease and 40% lowered the risk of dying from cancer.
