In an entirely new case that appeared in Florida, a teen was hospitalized after developing some strange condition. The teen’s family says he has got a rare infection from a brain eating amoeba.

But the state health official has clarified that there is no confirmed case of the above.

It all happened when the teen’s parents took him to a nearby hospital after he experienced hallucinations and headaches.

The above symptoms developed a week ago when his family decided to take a trip to a beach in Port Charlotte, Florida, on July 1.

As per doctors, a brain-eating amoeba has entered his brain through his nose. The amoeba has infected his brain and since then he has been battling for his life at Golisano Children’s Hospital.

On the other hand, a state health official simply declined to comment on the recent development.

But later, this is what he said, “What I can say for sure is that we do not have any cases” in Florida of primary amebic meningoencephalitis, the rare infection caused by the Naegleria fowleri amoeba.

The last confirmed case of brain eating amoeba was in the year 2020. As of now, there are no confirmed cases reported in the recent past.

In most cases, the initial symptoms include nausea or vomiting, fever, headache which can be followed by hallucinations, seizures, loss of balance, lack of attention, confusion, and stiff neck.
