Nobody would have expected that polio cases would come back. According to the latest Health news, polio cases have returned in the US after a decade. It’s confirmed by a senior official associated at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The above basically follows an unfortunate incident where a man was found unvaccinated and was paralyzed due to the attack of the polio virus.

Please note that polio is a highly contagious disease caused by the polio virus. Around 3 in 4 people who are infected don’t have symptoms. Still, they are found to transmit the virus to others.

The new case is stated to be the tip of the iceberg. This is what quoted by CNN, “There “must be several hundred cases in the community circulating”, Dr. Jose Romero, director of the CDC’s National Centre for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, was quoted as saying to CNN.

“There are a number of individuals in the community that have been infected with poliovirus. They are shedding the virus,” he said. “The spread is always a possibility because the spread is going to be silent.”
